23.5 Watch Party
May. 18th, 2024 09:11 amelisheva_mThere was a lot of interest in GL earlier and GMMTV's first is nearly finished airing (ep 12 airs 24th May) so let's try an asynchronous watch party for this. Watch at your own pace and join in the conversation as you want. I've only just started it so I can't summarise and I'm not going to link to the MDL page because the comments are currently full of spoilers. Seriously, stay away. It's set in a high school. Milk (Ink in Bad Buddy) plays a shy awkward girl, Love (Pa in Bad Buddy) is as kind as she is cute, and View's character is her own unique self.

My summary: Cute youth series about first love, growing up, and seeing your own worth.
It is very much a youth series, about 10th graders making 10th grade kinds of mistakes and figuring things out. There's a lot to like about it, although some aspects (especially the humour) are uneven. Aside from one episode, the messaging is clear and very good.

elisheva_mHello and welcome everyone. There's a lot of interest in GL so how about we try an asynchronous watch party/conversation when 23.5 ends later in the month (24th May)? Something informal where those who are interested watch at their own speed and we chat about it here (under cuts so no one gets spoiled).
Someone whose opinion I mostly trust has been raving about it, though from his comments I don't think it's one for me to watch week by week so I'm really looking forward to it and also waiting until it's finished airing.
