off-topic but posting because everyone currently here watches BL, we need more light in the world, and it's something we can share without adding to PTW lists
Last October, the BBC opened their most mainstream family orientated beloved by all ages from grans to bairns prime time Sunday evening flagship programme with this
Please keep in mind this was the regular opening group dance from the professionals on Strictly Come Dancing. These dances sometimes highlight two of the pros and include a bit of a story, with the other pro dancers integrated throughout and taking up a lot of the visual space. This one is unique in giving 3 minutes to the featured dancers on their own and telling its story with such clarity. That's why the other pros feel extraneous to it.

Date: 2024-05-10 12:57 pm (UTC)I'm a huge sucker for this show or rather, the German version of it (called "Let's Dance"). And I feel that we're still quite behind representation in this way? Or rather, they'll always make such a big deal about it here, like, "Ohhhh this celebrity is gay and is dancing with a man!" or in the pro dancer challenge, where they had one f/f and one m/m couple, they were like, "Ohhh aren't we progressive, this is soo normal, look at these same sex pro dancer couples, aren't we such a progressive show?" Like... ugh shut up, just let them dance without commenting on it all the time, you're a shitty TV channel and this is your only flagship show left, so stop being so fake about it all. 🙄
But there have been some gorgeous same sex routines, like those by Layton Williams & Nikita Kuzmin, all of them were amazing! We had a gay celebrity who made it into the final show (he didn't win because he wasn't as good as the other two contestants, but he was a lot of fun) - I've got his Charleston uploaded here. There are pretty much no videos on Youtube because the TV channel only last year discovered that you can upload stuff to Youtube and it might actually be... good PR?! 🤦♀️

Thanks for sharing the Charleston. It's fun :)
